For many, this is an exciting time. It means a fresh start, a new page, and another chance to make much needed improvements. People all across the world have great intentions on making lasting changes in their lives. Unfortunately, this fire is short lived for the vast majority. We go through year after year of setting goals and giving up before the first rain of the spring. So the big question is: how can we do things different this year?
“Bet On YOURSELF”
What do I mean by that? It is so easy to set our goals based on what those around us are focusing on or on things other people think we should be doing. Goals that are set according to others will more than likely land you in the failure zone. Why? Because you won’t complete what YOU are not passionate about. This year, I dare you to bet on yourself! If you want to write a book, start a weight loss journey (even if it’s for the 100th time), go back to school, or make a career change- DO IT! You are strong enough, smart enough, and you have everything it takes to do big things in 2019. It all comes down to whether you believe in yourself enough to shoot your shot.
Bumps In The Road
It happens! I was driving down a rainy highway this morning and ran over a pocket of water. My car wavered for a second and I got a little scared. I held on to the wheel tighter and calmed myself. I went off into a random train of thought that actually prompted me to write this post. Everyone is always so positive at the start of the year (or beginning of the drive) until challenges arise. It can cause you to slow down or even quit, but doing so delays your arrival time. You must keep driving, no matter what. With a lot of consistent effort and a little bit of faith, you can do ANYTHING.
I Challenge You………
To start now! If you have struggled with goal setting in the past, start small with just one or two things you want to change this year. You can’t change everything in 365 days but you can make a lot of progress on a few things. Be sure to make them S.M.A.R.T. goals!
My top personal goals for this year are:
- Grow my blog and catering business to supplement my income
- Lose 50lbs- FOR GOOD!
- Create and stick to a monthly budget
Now that I’ve shared my plans with you, I wanna know what you plan on doing this year!
Leave a comment and tell me what your goals are for 2019…….
